AEROSTRIP® Fine Bubble Diffusers
The Most Efficient Wastewater Treatment Aeration for Australian Industry
As a long term trusted partner of Aqua Consult and the exclusive Australian distributor of Aerostrip Fine Bubble Diffusers, Hydroflux has been bringing cutting-edge technologies to industries seeking efficient, sustainable, and reliable fine bubble diffusers for over a decade.
Aerostrip Diffusers have been in operation since the early 1990’s and are providing significant benefits to numerous wastewater treatment plants with over 2000 installation worldwide including many industrial and municipal plants throughout Australia. They are successfully being used in all types of aerobic biological plants including Activated sludge, Membrane Bioreactors (MBR), and Sequencing Biological Reactors (SBR).
The two main benefits of the AEROSTRIP diffusers are the significant power savings due to the high oxygen transfer rate 4.0-5.0 kgO2/kW, and the robustness and long life of the membrane, which is greater than 12 years.

Why Aerostrip Fine Bubble Diffusers Are the Ultimate Choice for Industrial Applications
Aerostrip is the most trusted fine bubble diffuser in Australia, favoured by all major water authorities and many industries. Combining premium-quality materials, a proven design, and research-based engineering, the Aerostrip fine bubble diffuser delivers high-efficiency performance in aerobic industrial wastewater treatment plants
The low-profile design allows the highly durable membranes to be directly installed on the floor of an aeration tank, resulting in unbeatable blow-in depth for superior oxygen transfer. The diffuser’s modular and flexible design provides a high-yield surface dedicated to aeration, making it adaptable to tanks of various shapes and sizes. During operation, maximum safety is ensured by supplying air to diffusers arranged in small, manageable groups. The Aerostrip modules are the ideal solution for applications requiring reliable and efficient aeration.
Additional Benefits Include:
- Ultra-fine bubble size provides the highest transfer rates
- Non-clogging design for reliable performance
- PU membrane with a long lifespan (greater than 12 years)
- Greater coverage of the reactor floor with the strip profile design
- Suitable for intermittent and continuous operation
- Can be used in high MLSS reactors (MBR) with concentrations above 15,000 mg/L
- Available in multiple lengths and configurations, allowing installation in any tank shape or size
- Documented proof of efficiency and durability

The Unmatched Extruded Polyurethane Membrane
The Aerostrip membrane has an incredible 400,000 pores per m2 of membrane surface that generates an ultra-fine bubble pattern and behaving like check valves when closed.
With an average bubble size of 1 mm (smaller than the accepted definition of a fine bubble), the air is diffused into smaller volumes with the highest interfacial surface. A reduction in air demand leads to lower energy costs and an optimal oxygen transfer. On top of this, the interaction between the polyurethane high-energy-surface membrane and effluent allows the formation of the smallest bubbles, according to the laws of physics for fluids, two to three times smaller than the market norm.
The combination of design, material, and perforation technology lead to arguably the most efficient and longest lasting membrane available for fine bubble aeration.

Exceptional Quality Control
Every single Aerostrip membrane and diffuser undergoes rigorous testing at the factory in Austria before delivery to ourselves and our customers.
The diffusers are assembled by skilled personnel using semi-automated assembly lines, and are certified to ISO 9001 standards. Each individual Aerostrip polyurethane membrane is thoroughly tested prior to assembly through various methods, including FTIR spectroscopy for material inspection, tensile testing to determine material constants, and stereo-microscope inspection for accurate visual checks. Additionally, all Aerostrip diffusers are tested under the same flux conditions to ensure they meet high standards for leakage, bubble pattern, size, and uniformity.

Design and Construct Capabilities
The Aerostrip diffuser is just one critical component of an aerobic biological treatment system, seamlessly integrated by Hydroflux into various wastewater treatment plants. These diffusers have been successfully implemented across all types of aerobic biological plants, including Activated Sludge Systems (AS), Membrane Bioreactors (MBR), and Sequencing Batch Reactors (SBR). Hydroflux designs and constructs comprehensive wastewater treatment plants, incorporating Aerostrip alongside a range of ancillary processes to condition influent, manage sludge, and provide additional treatment or recycling as required.
The company employs highly qualified civil, mechanical, chemical, and electrical engineers, supported by a team of experienced project managers, site supervisors, commissioning engineers, and service technicians. With offices across Australia, Hydroflux ensures a local presence throughout every stage of a project, delivering efficient, high-performance wastewater treatment solutions.

Hydroflux designs and constructs comprehensive wastewater treatment systems that incorporate various types of processing equipment, including physical/chemical, biological, and tertiary treatment technologies to enable water reuse.
