Hydroflux Upgrades Warwick WWTP Biosolids Facility

The Warwick Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), owned and operated by Southern Downs Regional Council, treats up to three million litres per day of sewage and provides Class A quality treated water for reuse.

Hydroflux recently upgraded the existing biosolids facility to provide a new sludge dewatering system inclusive of site integration works, piping, automation, controls and SCADA modification.
Project Scope
- Process, mechanical and electrical design
- Removal of existing equipment
- Integration of a new HUBER Q440 Inclined Sludge Press
- New polyelectrolyte make up and dosing system
- New control system and SCADA integration
- Site mechanical and electrical works, including piping, valves and control cabling
- Process commissioning and operating training

Project Outcomes
- Increased sludge processing capacity
- Higher cake solids in the discharge, reducing offsite disposal costs
- High filtrate capture, less solids return to the WWTP aerobic reactor
- Low speed low energy technology
- Single point accountability via complete integration as a turnkey project
